Ken Naber renowned Corvette Restorer Passes

Noted Corvette Restoration expert Ken Naber of Nabers Motors passes

Noted Corvette restorer Ken Naber suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away November 1. He is survived by his wife Marian; his children Kim and Michael, and his younger brother and business partner Gary. Brothers Ken and Gary owned and operated Naber Brothers in Houston, Texas well before the Corvette Hobby was even born! They got their start in 1963(!) when they purchased a new 1963 Corvette with a damaged quarter panel.

Nabers Motors Restoration

I knew the Nabers from their long-time affiliation and memberships with the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS). Both brothers were always at the big Corvette events and always had a kind word. I last spoke with them at length when they were inducted into the Bloomington Gold Great Halla tremendous honor in the Corvette Hobby. Ken also served on the NCCB (National Corvette Certification Board) as a Bloomington Gold Judge for decades where he used his knowledge to help educate others. They allowed their work to speak for them. If there was a high-end collector car auction- odds were the high bid Corvette was a Naber Brothers restoration. The Nabers did amazing restoration work for decades, and I sincerely hope that Gary continues. The Corvette Hobby hopes so, too.

Arrangements

As of November 1, funeral arrangements have not been announced. Visit www.dignitymemorial.com to be notified of the family’s plans. Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston, Texas will be making the arrangements.
