Houston Corvette Service near huge explosion in Houston, Texas

Early Morning Explosion in NW Houston Creates a “War Zone”

Houston Corvette Service was VERY near Ground Zero

A massive explosion shook Houston, Texas early today, leaving a trail of debris a half-mile long. Authorities are reporting that the blast occurred in an industrial area in the northwest part of Houston- specifically at the Watson Valve Services Company (also referred to as Watson Grinding & Manufacturing) at 4525 Gessner Road.  They believe that a gas leak caused it. Our good friend Gordon Andrus owns and operates Houston Corvette Service at 4537 Steffani Lane. Despite the businesses being located on different streets, Gordon’s company was only a hundred feet or so from the explosion. Houston Corvette Service is known for doing both high-quality, authentic Corvette restorations and servicing all model year Corvettes.

We are SO incredibly happy that the blast occurred around 5 am when relatively few people were in the nearby businesses. Houston authorities are reporting that two people have died so far, and there are many injuries. None of these people were associated with Houston Corvette Service.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Gordon Andrus and his family, and the employees of Houston Corvette Service as their lives get back to normal.
